Much of what Susan does for her customers is to help them find their audience, their customer, their match. To reach that end, she offers several tips.

  • First, ask what you want to have happen as a result of your marketing efforts
  • Then ask, how will it impact your user, customer, employee?
  • What will they find compelling?
  • Look for the “win/win” between the company and its prospects.
  • Meet people where they are. Find common ground
  • Conduct user testing of your digital marketing, with your existing customers/employees.
  • Interview existing customers about new marketing efforts
  • Get multiple perspectives
  • Analytics
  • Don’t have to appeal to everyone
  • Be visible where your ideal is hanging out
