What a Writers Retreat Revealed About My Next Chapter

Typewriter at a writers retreat

There’s something powerful about stepping away from your everyday life and immersing yourself in a space created for clarity, creativity, and connection. That’s exactly what I experienced at the recent National Speakers Association Writers Retreat.

For two and a half days, seven of us gathered at a beautiful Hill Country camp with one purpose: to write. Each of us came carrying something important—a manuscript, a marketing program, video scripts, or other projects waiting to be brought to life. What made this retreat so special was that while we sat in solitude, focused deeply on our own work, we did it together.

We spent our days in a bright, airy room filled with natural light and breathtaking views of trees and wide-open spaces. The environment itself felt like an invitation to create. There was something about being surrounded by nature, stillness, and like-minded people that elevated the energy in the room. The vibration was unmistakable—focus, motivation, and possibility.

From One Manuscript to Two: What Clarity Can Unlock

I arrived at the retreat carrying a manuscript I had technically finished six months ago. Yet despite having completed the writing, it remained untouched and unpublished because I couldn’t settle on the right title. And as many writers know, sometimes one unanswered question can stall the entire process.

But something shifted for me at this retreat.

With uninterrupted time, fresh perspective, and the supportive energy of the group, I was able to pull that manuscript apart and see it in a completely new way. What I discovered was that it wasn’t one book at all, it was two.

That realization changed everything.

The first book is now complete and ready for publication: Tap Into Your Power: The High-Achieving Woman’s Guide to Clearing Fear, Doubt, and the Invisible Ceiling with EFT. This book is especially meaningful to me because it speaks directly to the hidden emotional patterns that keep so many brilliant, capable women from fully stepping into their greatness. I know in my heart this book will make a profound difference in the lives of women everywhere.

The second book, Tender Places, will be released later this year, and I’m equally excited to share that journey when the time comes.

Beyond the writing itself, one of the greatest gifts of the retreat was the connection. We supported one another, encouraged one another, and celebrated each person’s progress. Evenings were spent gathered around a bonfire, roasting marshmallows, sharing wine, and getting to know each other on a deeper level. Those moments of laughter and conversation were just as valuable as the writing.

Tap Into Your Power: A Book Written for Women Ready to Stop Holding Themselves Back

To celebrate the publication of Tap Into Your Power, I’ll be hosting a book launch event on September 3rd. It will be more than a launch—it will be a celebration of transformation, connection, and community, featuring vendors, speakers, music, food, and wine. A place for women to gather, connect, and celebrate what’s possible when we stop holding ourselves back.

This retreat reminded me of something important: sometimes the breakthrough you need isn’t more effort. Sometimes it’s simply the right environment, the right people, and the willingness to trust what wants to emerge

My intention is to help my clients visualize the amazing possibilities that await them while helping them identify the paths to their most desired goals.
