Secret to Success: Smart friends.

Cheryl C. Jones calls Susan, the “Synthesizer of Information” who is always on the precipice of what’s new.

Susan claims her uniqueness is two-fold; “seeing things from multiple perspectives and finding the “sweet-spot” when hiring for her team. “I know how to identify people who know how to do what I don’t know”, says Susan.

Much of what Susan does for her customers is to help them find their audience, their customer, their match. To reach that end, she offers several tips.

  • First, ask what you want to have happen as a result of your marketing efforts
  • Then ask, how will it impact your user, customer, employee?
  • What will they find compelling?
  • Look for the “win/win” between the company and its prospects.
  • Meet people where they are. Find common ground
  • Conduct user testing of your digital marketing, with your existing customers/employees.
  • Interview existing customers about new marketing efforts
  • Get multiple perspectives
  • Analytics
  • Don’t have to appeal to everyone
  • Be visible where your ideal is hanging out
  • Be social on social media
  • Let your fire show
  • Communicate who you are, what you do. Think it through.
